Your Visit

My acupuncture style blends 5-Element, TCM, and meridian-based acupuncture traditions.  Alternately, patients may choose to be treated with acupressure or chi gong healing, these modalities do not require needles.

Sessions include lifestyle, diet and exercise counseling to encourage healthful habits of self-care as a part of the plan of treatment.  Awareness and accord with the seasons and the natural rhythms of life are encouraged.  These are the foundations of Chinese medicine.

Patient engagement in the treatment process is a key part of healing with natural medicine. You will be treated as a unique individual and asked to participate in your healing journey. In the treatment room, I offer deep listening and partnership to my patients. New awareness and healing insights may emerge in this context. Profound positive change is available on every level.


Your First Visit

Your first visit will last 1 ½ - 2 hours.  This time includes a complete health and personal history; a traditional Chinese physical exam and intake; and a treatment.

Please wear little or no makeup or perfume/cologne for this visit. This will help me to gather valuable diagnostic information.


Treatment tips (to get the most from your treatment)

Please eat within the 3 hours before you are treated.

Within 24 hours before and after your treatment, avoid coffee, alcohol, other intoxicants, and strenuous exercise.

Plan your treatment times so you do not have to rush to get to the office. Get some extra rest the day or evening after your treatment.

Observe and note any changes in your attitude, mood or physical condition in the days following your treatment.  I will follow up with you on these at your next visit.

Continue to receive your regular medical care.
